Jayden Pierre Chilling!

Hello Spotlight World,

Jayden "JP" Pierre here with Entry #4 of my Diary

Monday was an easy day at school. When I got home, I took a nap before doing my homework, I had a big project and an essay that had to be handed in the next day. After I got done with my homework, I iced my knee, then went to bed.

Tuesday, I woke up later than I normally would, so I had to rush to get ready for school. I felt good, because I was able to finish all of my homework the night before. After school, I just chilled in the gym and watch some of the older guys workout. I still had to sit out due to my knee. When I got home I did my homework, iced my knee, did some push-ups and then went to bed.

Wednesday was a light day for me. School day went pretty fast, after school I went and got something to eat, then came back and chilled out in the gym just watching everyone workout. When I got home, I did my homework, played some 2k18, iced my knee and went to bed.

Thursday, I woke up feeling good, after sitting out for a week due to my knee, I was able to start playing basketball again. After school we had workouts, it felt good to be back on the court, we had to do a lot of running, then we played 5 on 5. I played well, my team won three games in a row before we finally lost, it felt good to be back playing again. After getting home from the gym, I did my homework, my knee was a little sore, so I iced it, then took a shower and called it the night.

Friday was a long day, I woke up feeling exhausted from the night before, after taking a shower and eating breakfast l felt better and ready to get on with my day. We had open gym right after school, afterwards I went to work out with my dad and got a lot of shots up on the shooting gun. When I got home I got something to eat, showered and went to bed.

Saturday, I was in the gym by 9 am, I got on the shooting gun and got up 600 shots. After the gym, I went home to relax before going to an all-star game that I was invited to play in. When my dad and I got there, we realized that we had the dates messed up, and drove an hour and a half for no reason. Since I had nothing to do, I went to Kean University to play some pick-up games before returning home and going to bed.

Sunday, I was able to get some much-needed rest, I didn’t have any practice or any workouts. I was able to sleep late. Later In the afternoon, I went to Kean University to play a little pick up. After that I returned home and took a nap. When I woke up, I got something to eat, took a shower, watched a movie with my family and went back to sleep. God Bless, see you guys next week.

Jayden Pierre Getting Ready For Action

Good Day Spotlight World,

Jayden "JP" Pierre here with entry #5 of my Diary

Monday was Columbus Day, we were off from school, I had to be up early, because I had an early morning workout at the school. We worked on creating space and shooting off the dribble, it was a pretty intense workout, we were in there for three hours. After the workout I went home and took a nap, before I had to be back to the school for team practice. After practice, I was tired. I got home I took a shower and went to bed early.

Tuesday, I woke up feeling rested, the school day went by pretty fast. I didn’t have any basketball workouts after school, I had a strength and conditioning workout at Annex Sports later that evening. I've been focusing on getting stronger this year. After leaving Annex Sports, I got home, did my push-ups and calf raises, took a shower, and went to bed.

Wednesday morning, I got off to a good start, I was up early and ready for school. I had a good day at school and got all of my work done early. After school, I had three-hour workout session with BadSocietyBball. We worked on a lot of one on one Isolation drills, staying low, 3 dribble attacks, and going downhill. It was a really good intense session. When I got home, I jumped right in the shower then went to bed.

Thursday morning, I woke up feeling refreshed. I had a really good day at school, we didn't have no practice or workouts after school. My dad took me to the gym and we worked on different finishes around the basket, and also worked on my pull up jump shot. After we left the gym, we grabbed something to eat. When I got home, I did my night time workout, then went to bed.

Friday was a slow morning, it felt like the school day was taking forever. After school we got in the gym and played 5 on 5. Afterwards I had a workout session with BadSocietyBball. It was a good workout, but I was kind of tired, but was able to push through it. After I got home I just wanted to go to bed. I had to be up and be in the gym by 9am.

Saturday morning, I got myself together and was in the gym by 9am. I did some ball handling drills, then got on the shooting gun, I shot a lot of 3 pointers. I've been focusing on getting more consistent shooting the long ball, and extending my range. After that I went home, I did my laundry, then took a nap. When I got up from my nap, I had to get ready, I was invited to play in the Love Ballin All Star game. It was a good game, I had fun and was glad I got invited.

Sunday, I had to be up early for the Team Rio middle school and high school fall workout. I enjoyed working out and competing against the high school guys. They are stronger and faster, which forces me to make quick decisions. Afterwards I went home and did my homework before taking a shower and going to bed.

God Bless, see you guys next week

Jayden Pierre At African American History And Culture Museum

Good Day Spotlight World,

It's Jayden "JP" Pierre with entry #6 of my Diary

Monday, I woke up feeling good and ready to start the day. I had a real good day at school, we had open gym after school, but only got to play 5 on 5 for short period of time. After leaving the school I wanted to play some more, so I asked my dad to dropped me off at the recreation center. I got some good runs in with the older guys at the center. When I got home, I did my homework then went to bed.

Tuesday, the school day went by slow, and felt longer than usual. After school I didn’t have any basketball workouts, I had strength and conditioning with Annex Sports, this week they focused on my legs strength, balance, and my jumping abilities. They also did my vertical test, it came out to 33 inches. I was told for my age and height, that's really good. When I got home I did some push-ups and toe raises, took a shower and went to sleep.

Wednesday, school went by extremely fast. It was teachers, parent’s conference day. I've been doing great in school, I have an A average in all my classes, all my teachers spoke very highly of me and my parents were very pleased. After leaving the conference, I headed to the gym, I had a three hour workout with BadSocietyBball. We started with some ball handling then we worked on a lot of full court transition drills. Once I left there, I went home got my homework done, did some push-ups, then went to bed.

Thursday, I woke up feeling tired. We didn't have any workouts at the school, so I went to the barbershop and got a haircut. My dad picked me up from the barbershop, and we went to the recreation center, it was pretty packed in there. I was able to get on the court right away and play a couple of good games with the older guys. My shot was falling, it's like I couldn't miss. My team won every game. I felt real good when I got home.

Friday we had a half day, it went by so fast, and it felt like we didn’t even have school. Right after school we had open gym. My team didn't lose any games, we started throwing lobs and attempting different dunks during the games, because we knew we wasn't going lose anyway. Open gym is always fun, especially when your team is winning. I had to leave early, I had a dentist appointment. After leaving the dentist, I went to the gym, I had another three hour workout with BadSocietyBball. It was a real intense workout. We worked on finishing through contact. I was tired after leaving the gym. I went home and went to bed, I had to be in the gym at 9 am.

Saturday I woke up early and was in the gym by 9 am. I got on the shooting gun, and shot for an hour. These Saturday morning workouts on the shooting gun, have really been helping my shot. When I got done, my dad and I headed to the Bronx, I was invited to the Jim Couch National Training Showcase. We did a lot of different drills, it was an all-day event and I had a fun time. The games were scheduled for Sunday. I couldn't make it, I had plans to go to D.C. with my family.

Sunday was an exciting day. My family and I had an appointment to the African American Museum in Washington D. C. This trip was very informative. We read and learned about a lot of great people. I learned about the slave trade. There was a lot of different replicas and artifacts, but we didn’t get to see the entire museum. The museum has 4 floors and they are all filled with information and models of things from the past. This was a great experience, and history lesson, I can’t wait to go back.

God Bless, see you guys next week

Good Day Spotlight World,

Jayden "JP" Pierre here with entry number #7

Monday, I woke up extremely tired, the school day felt longer than usual. After school we had open gym. Once I left the gym I went home and went to bed. I didn’t have any workout on my schedule, so I used that free time to get some much-needed rest.

Tuesday, I woke up earlier than usual, I felt rested. The school day went pretty good. We had workouts after school, then played 5 on 5. My team never came off the court because we won every game. After we left the school, my dad and I went to the gym to work on a few things. The workout was focused mainly on me staying low and being more efficient using less dribbles. Afterwards I went home, took a shower and went to bed.

Wednesday I had another really good day at school. After school I went to the gym and got some shots up. Later that evening we had a basketball meeting at the school. While my dad was in the meeting, I went down to the gym and was able to get some more shots up. When I got home I did some push-ups, took a shower, and went to sleep.

Thursday the school day went by extremely slow. After school we had workouts, then played 5 on 5, my team didn’t lose. When I got home I did my homework, then did my workouts and went to bed.

Friday, we had half day at school, so the day went by fast. I got a certificate and was named student of the month, which I'm really happy about. All teachers have to vote for who they think deserves it. After school we had to be in the gym for workouts. After leaving the school workout, I had another workout with BadSocietyBball. We did a lot footwork drills using the ladder, then we worked on some pick n roll stuff. Once I got home I was ready to go to bed.

Saturday, I was up and back in the gym by 9am. I did some ball handling, then got on the shooting gun. When I got I wanted to take a nap, but I had to get my laundry done. I went to bed early, because I had to be up early the next morning.

Sunday, I had to be at Caldwell University by 7:45am. I had two early morning games with my school team. When I got back from the games, my mother had tickets for us to go to a haunted house in Philadelphia. It was pretty scary, but I had a fun time. God Bless, see you guys next week.

The Super Skillcase kicks off the weekend in Neptune, NJ and some of the top middle school players in the region have committed to the Saturday event. Top players Jaquan Harris, Christian Bliss, Sebastian Robinson and Jebron Harris will be in the building among others.

Jaquan Harris is coming off an impressive showing at the Basketball Spotlight Future Phenom Camp and should have a nice spot in our national rankings. We will be anxious to see him in action again.

Christian Bliss is the reigning Spotlight POY and also put on a show at the Future Phenom Camp. This will be a great platform for Bliss because our Class of 2023 National Player Rankings are right around the corner. So, we know he will be motivated this weekend.

Sebastian Robinson is another Class of 2023 guard that will benefit well from a great showing this weekend. He proved to be hard to handle during his dominant performance at the Future Phenom Camp.

Jebron Harris was voted as the Best Prospect in his class during the Future Phenom Camp. Now he will take his talents to the watchful trainer eyes of Micah Lancaster. I can’t wait to see the young fella again.

Jayden Pierre At Super Skillcase

Good Day, Spotlight Fam

Jayden "JP" Pierre here with my 8th and Final Entry of my Diary.

Monday, I woke up feeling a little tired. The school day went by extremely fast. After school we didn't have any workouts. I went home and took a nap. when I got up, I did my homework, ate dinner, then did some push-ups and pull ups before going back to bed.

Tuesday, I was able to sleep late, and get some rest. When I woke up, I cleaned my room and played some 2k18. I didn't have to be at the school until later in the afternoon, when it was time to get on the bus, for our school trip to Six Flags Great Adventure. It was a fun trip, but it was pretty cold, so you really couldn’t enjoy the rides as much. I got home really late, so I went right to bed.

Wednesday we had a delayed opening due to our class trip. The school day was short. After school we had our first middle school team practice. We had to get ready to play in a JV League the next day. After practice I had a three-hour workout with BadSocietyBball. We worked on a lot of different ball handling and ball control drills. We also worked on finishing through contact. After the workout, I went home, took a shower, and went to bed.

Thursday morning, I woke up feeling good. In school, we went over everything we needed to know for final exams, we have coming up. After school, I went and got a haircut, then headed to the game. This was our first time playing together as a unit, we had back to back games and won both. we still have to work on a lot, but it was good to get the wins. After the game I went home, took a shower, iced my knees, and went to bed.

Friday, I was up early and ready to get the day started. School day went by very slow. We didn't have practice or workouts after school. Later that evening I had a workout with BadSocietyBall. We worked on a lot of in game situation and IQ stuff, different reads coming off screens, reading the help defense, then we worked on all left-handed stuff. I really enjoyed the workout. I felt ready for the Super SkillCase the following day.

Saturday morning, I was up early, got ready and headed to the Super SkillCase. We started the morning doing drills with Micah Lancaster and the I'm Possible trainers. Later after lunch, we played games. I played well, and my team won both of our games. When I got home, I iced my knees and watched tv until it was time for bed.

Sunday when I woke up, my knees felt a little sore. My dad told me to ice them, and they felt much better afterwards. I laid down and rested for most of the day, until I had to get up and do my laundry.

Thank You to Mike Melton, and the entire Bballspotlight family for giving me the opportunity to share with you guys, some insight of my life. Also, I would like to thank everyone that took the time to read my diary entries. To all my fellow ballers, keep working hard, on and off the court. It's a blessing to play this game that we all love.

For the final time..
God Bless Jayden "JP" Pierre signing off

Name: Jayden Pierre

Hometown: Roselle, NJ

Position: Point Guard

Class: 2022

Breakdown: It was another stellar performance for this floor general. His handle is crisp and he makes great decisions with the rock. I love the way he maneuvers around shot blockers when converting layups. His outside shot also looks like it’s on the rise. This kid is a hard worker and might have a chance to rise in our rankings when we update them in the spring.

Super Skillcase Profile: Corey Floyd Jr. (Somerset, NJ)

Name: Corey Floyd Jr.

Hometown: Somerset, NJ

Position: Shooting Guard

Class: 2022

Breakdown: Floyd has grown in size rapidly the last few months and uses his new size to dominate. He showed some above the rim prowess and the ability to shoot over smaller defenders. I also like the way he creates shots and plays off the bounce. I think he’s just scratching the surface on his potential. We expect him to have a breakout season on the circuit.

Name: Carlos Lopez

Hometown: Egg Harbor Township, NJ

Position: Point Guard

Class: 2022

Breakdown: The southpaw displayed his slick handle and deep range off the bounce. He broke down the defender and went into a smooth step back with accuracy. He also relished in the open floor while leading the break with nice passes and tough finishes. His confidence is through the roof when he has the rock.
